GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – September 10, 2014 – NPAworldwide has purchased all the outstanding shares of The National Banking Network, Inc. (NBN) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA effective September 1, 2014. NBN is the operator of the Accounting Career Network and the Banking & Financial Services Career Network.

“NPAworldwide and NBN are recruitment networks sharing values, philosophies, and a common interest in the success of our member firms,” said Dave Nerz, the President of the newly-combined business. “There is limited duplication in the industries served by our networks, but some differences in the geographic markets in which we are active.”

The NBN employee team will remain in their respective roles. Bob Cozzens, who was an active owner of NBN, has retired from his day-to-day role but will act as the NBN Advisor to the NPAworldwide Board of Directors to offer expertise and experience throughout the integration period. NBN will be run independently of NPAworldwide while the services and membership of the organizations are evaluated for the best integration opportunities to leverage the expertise of each network.

This transaction connects NPAworldwide with more than 50 new member recruitment agencies, with minor overlap in the sectors NPAworldwide has historically served. The acquisition opens geographic markets to NBN previously not penetrated, according to Nerz. NBN adds active recruitment firms working with clients and candidates in banking, finance, accounting, loan origination and processing, audit, tax, and various other technology and banking specialties.

NPAworldwide is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has more than 425 member offices operating from locations in 34 countries. NPAworldwide members employ nearly 1200 recruitment consultants. This acquisition will add nearly fifteen percent more locations to NPAworldwide’s recruitment network and increase existing revenues by more than twenty percent.

“The blending of these two similar but unique networks will take time,” acknowledges Jeff McGraw, the Chairman of NPAworldwide. “The NPAworldwide member-ownership model will need to be blended with a strong and effective privately-owned model that NBN has mastered. We intend to take the time needed to understand what NPAworldwide does best and can be shared with NBN, just as NPAworldwide will leverage the best practices established by NBN. We believe the networks will be better together than operating as separate organizations. We are not going to rush to single solution, but we have a vision for a simple merged membership in the foreseeable future.”

About NBN. NBN (www.nbn-jobs.com) was founded in 1986 and will continue to operate from Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.

About NPAworldwide. NPAworldwide, operating since 1956, is a recruitment network facilitating placements between its members. The network has more than 425 member offices with 1,200 recruiters in 30 countries on 6 continents. For more information, please visit www.npaworldwide.com.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – September 3, 2014 – NPAworldwide released the results of a survey on business conditions for independent recruitment firms. The survey was distributed to the active members of the network, representing more than 425 independent recruiting firms in more than 30 countries. “Business conditions in the last 3 to 6 months have been mixed based on industry and location,” said Dave Nerz, president of NPAworldwide. “Recruiters have generally experienced better business results than a year ago, but results over the last 90 days have not lived up to what was expected. 95% of those surveyed are optimistic about growth potential for the employment markets in the next 6 months.”

Some other results of this survey showed the following:

  • 52% reported improved conditions in the last 180 days, 24% indicated no change, and 23% reported worse conditions.
  • 58% reported employment markets performing at or above expectations in the last 90 days. This is down from 76% in January.
  • Only 5% of the respondents have a negative outlook for the next 6 months.
  • 15% of those surveyed project fees to be below the levels realized in the prior 6 months.

“This is generally positive news for NPAworldwide members and perhaps the industry in general,” said Nerz. “On a worldwide basis, it seems that conditions are mixed. Some locations are experiencing more difficult conditions than others. Australia, New Zealand, and Asia are not as positive about the recent past and immediate future as North America.”

The survey also seeks to identify “strong” and “weak” industries/segments of the employment markets. The most active markets identified by the survey were manufacturing, IT / hardware / software / electronics, and chemical process jobs. Weaker-performing segments were identified related to positions in the areas of accounting/financial services and construction / mining.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – July 23, 2014 – Laura Schmieder, the owner of Premier Placement, Inc. in Allentown PA (USA) has been recognized by NPAworldwide for attaining Platinum Recruiter Achievement Status. There are fewer than 50 recruiters in the global network who have achieved this level of production or higher.

“Recruiter Achievement Status recognizes cumulative salary totals within NPAworldwide,” reported president Dave Nerz. “This is a lifetime achievement program that recognizes both longevity in the network and individual productivity. Since split placement activity within NPAworldwide is only a small portion of a member’s overall business activity, the accomplishment is even more noteworthy. The Platinum award reflects Laura’s tremendous relationships with her network trading partners.”

“I’m so pleased to have earned the Platinum award,” commented Laura Schmieder, “and I’d like to thank all of my trading partners. If they didn’t trust me with their job openings and candidates, I wouldn’t have made the split placements that led to this recognition.”

NPAworldwide recognizes six levels of performance through the Recruiter Achievement Status program. Platinum is the third-highest level, following Double Platinum and Platinum Premier. Recruiters who have achieved Platinum level production or higher represent the top 4 percent of all NPAworldwide recruiters globally.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – June 26, 2014 – Charlie Diana, the owner of Advanced Search Group, Inc. in Chicago IL (USA) has been recognized by NPAworldwide for attaining Platinum Recruiter Achievement Status. There are fewer than 50 recruiters in the global network who have achieved this level of production or higher.

“Recruiter Achievement Status recognizes cumulative salary totals within NPAworldwide,” reported president Dave Nerz. “It represents lifetime achievement, so it is a tribute to both individual productivity and network tenure. Split-fee placements through NPAworldwide are just a portion of Mr. Diana’s overall business. Reaching Platinum status for cumulative salaries exceeding US $5 million is a remarkable accomplishment. Having done so in a shared-fee environment makes it even more impressive and is a testimonial to his ability to work effectively with others to create mutual success.”

“I’m honored to have received this recognition,” commented Charlie Diana, “but I also realize I wouldn’t be here without the tremendous support and cooperation from my NPAworldwide trading partners. Working cooperatively to fill job openings helps me get the best candidate in front of my client faster than my competitors.”

Global Recruitment Network Rebrands with Updated Name, Logo

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – April 29, 2014 – NPA, The Worldwide Recruiting Network has rebranded as NPAworldwide, including a new corporate logo. The rebranding effort takes advantage of an opportunity to tie the corporate name to the website (www.npaworldwide.com) to ensure more consistent branding.

“For nearly sixty years, the NPA name has served our organization well,” commented chairman Jeff McGraw. “However, as we continue to expand globally, there is a disconnect between our NPA name and our NPAworldwide website. This update to our name makes it easier to tell our current story without sacrificing our impressively long history of success.”

The rebranding is an evolutionary process that will be completed over the next thirty days as the name and logo are changed. NPAworldwide is embarking on a marketing campaign in 2014 to reach job seeker and employer audiences, so the rebranding effort is especially timely.

“There are hundreds of organizations globally operating under the NPA letters,” remarked president Dave Nerz. “But there is only one NPAworldwide. This small but significant change allows NPAworldwide to move forward while minimizing the need for massive change and unnecessary costs for both the organization and our members. The new brand clearly identifies a significant differentiator for our network and our membership: global reach.”

NPA Recruiters Receive Customized Split Placement Training

By Veronica Scrimshaw

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Dave Nerz, President
dnerz@npaworldwide.com
+1 616.455.6776 x19

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN, USA – April 10, 2014 – NPA, The Worldwide Recruiting Network announced that customized training for recruiters doing split placements was provided by industry expert Mike Ramer. The session, titled How to Make More Split Placements, was delivered to an audience at the recent NPA Global Conference.

“The training covered the basics of building a foundation for success,” said Dave Nerz, president of NPA. “Mike detailed the need for trust, integrity and superior communication. He then facilitated a discussion to uncover and document the expectations of each potential participant in a split.”

Mike Ramer addressed best practices, including the establishment of clear expectations at the start of each new shared assignment. The goal is to allow each business to operate independently, but appear to the client and candidate as if they worked for the same firm.

An NPA success story was used as a case study. Glenn Rapp of PartnerWest (San Francisco, CA) and Joshua Ro of People Consulting Group (Seoul, South Korea) recounted the details of a successful placement completed for a client after a major global recruitment company failed to deliver on the client’s expectations. The search was handed over to the NPA split partners and was for a manufacturing plant manager in a very remote part of Korea. People Consulting Group’s knowledge of the local market made all the difference in the world when searching for such a unique candidate. And the success delivered resulted in a long-term client relationship for the North American-based PartnerWest with 5 additional placements since the initial split.

Mike Ramer and several of the participants in this session agreed that setting targets for annual business to be derived from splits will drive a level of results that cannot be achieved absent the focus on a goal.

About Mike Ramer, CPC, CSP. Mike Ramer is president of Ramer Search Consultants in the New York metro area. Mike’s career billing exceed $4 million and he is known as one of the recruitment industry’s premier trainers.

About NPA, The Worldwide Recruiting Network. NPA, www.npaworldwide.com, is a global recruiting network facilitating placements between its members. NPA has 400 member offices with more than 1,200 individual consultants in 30 countries on 6 continents.
